How to play · rules and tactics

Voice four chords in order while spending no more than fourteen steps of melodic motion. The three note columns are bass, middle and high voices; tap a note to move that voice. The target chord needs one of each named pitch, in any inversion, but bass must stay below middle and middle below high. After the first chord, each voice may move at most two scale steps from its previous locked note. Lock chord checks the voicing; a wrong lock adds discord and three discord ends the phrase. Motion costs the distance moved, even when correcting a choice. The five-note scale is C, D, E, G, A; octave numbers make register visible. Seek nearby common tones instead of resetting every chord to root position. Keyboard: Tab and Enter/Space operate buttons; R restarts.
